"Everyone Smiled"

Where is your Credibility. I steady my hands, clear my mind. I shake, body undulating in intense dissatisfaction. My eyes reveal it all, and you know the things they have said without sound. I gasp as the decorated voids walk past.

Giggles

Mr. Ice Cream man, why don't you have the flavor I so desperately desire? It's cold out and I walked today. I didn't come to see you, I'm sorry. I came to fill my mouth for a few moments with the sweetness of this creamy delicacy. I suppose I will settle to lick my lips to a different flavor today. Don't forget the fudge, the toppings, the whipped cream. Mr. Ice Cream man, where are you from? Is it cold there? Why are you here? I hope you are happy dipping the days away. I hope your feet don't hurt on the cement floors. I hope you are not alone at night, that you can cuddle up if you are ever cold. I hope you watch the sunrise every now and then. I hope you stay up until 4 am sometimes just to feel the silence before the birds. I don't even know you, Mr. Ice Cream man. But I love you anyway.

There's nothing like kissing with ice in the mouth. Why is that on my mind; it was so long ago.

I tiptoe and trip up the stairs
[So much for being graceful]
Hands and Knees
Slight Carpet Burn
My eyes gaze upward
And there you Await
Reach out a hand
And drag me up
the Last few Steps

The mountain Grows
I'm on top temporarily
The valley deepens
I throw rocks to the bottom
Just to hear the sound
The sight expands
I call out like a child
Just to hear the echo

We Are Kidding Ourselves

We are kidding ourselves

I sit
to write
the words of
my life
I wonder how
many before,
despite shattering
screams,
where never
truly
heard

what words
we construe
I pace
I plant the seeds
of fools ideas
tend the gardens of
my mind
and converse with
a bundle;
infinite little
pieces
of me

Are you in love. Have you ever been in love. What is love, anyway? Some four-letter-word uttered under the cover of blankets and sheets, on the tops of mountains, in front of the sink in the kitchen, knives watching like jealous sharpened heads. Are we capable of forgetting ourselves enough. to love. To clasp the hand of forever and bound two souls, uneventfully. As though they were born to be together, even free. Some desperate human trait (flaw even?) drives us to seek it. find it. No matter the view, I find it's always love that I wished I knew. I seek the hand in the dark of night, like a strength that I couldn't have found inside myself. We seek it as though it might complete us. The wise will say: Be complete, and give yourself in love. But what if 'and' was traded for 'then'. What might we discover if we found ourselves complete, and Then discovered that ugly little curse of love. (okay maybe it's not ugly. or a curse.) What if.....

If you do not know who Saul Williams is, correct this Immediately. Today I received my copy of Said the Shotgun to the Head
in my lovely university PO Box. My Christmas present to myself.

Some kind of Something

{Perhaps
We are fools
for Believing
In Love.}

It took
very few
Moments
For you
to convince
me.
I'd sworn off.
Laughed at
a thousand
little kisses.
Kisses like
wings of
butterflies
across
flushed cheeks.
Your lips
lusciously
parted.
We met
Half Way.

I allow time to converge
Scan horizons for some sign
I trace circles around your name
Watch the storm clouds roll in
I pace the entrance below the stairs
And listen to the whispering wind

"Sucessfully Disappear in a Room"

Didn't I tell you
Things would drag on and on
It isn't easy to hear the silence of an empty room
Didn't I tell you
I stood upon the threshold
Asking where I should begin
Didn't I tell you
I'm so full of the works that we undid
Splattering of matters across consciousness
Didn't I tell you
The dog barks in the dead of night
Waking in us a childish fear
Didn't I tell you
The lark calls me every morning
To raise to the occasion of another day
Didn't I tell you
I wouldn't stand for such treatment
Yet forever I wait for you to come around
Didn't I tell you
It meant the world to me
To know the truths of your heart
Didn't I tell you
The words run together
There was no mail again today
Didn't I tell you
You could have said anything
I would have chosen to save your world
Didn't I tell you
To just trust yourself
And do what you felt was right
Didn't I tell you
I can't hold on like this forever
The world screams my name
Didn't I tell you
He came to me last month
And begged for my freedom
Didn't I tell you
They grab my face
Try to shake this out of me
Didn't I tell you
I can't wait for the day
When two years is a decade
Didn't I tell you
You're a ghost among the remains
Of my mind's greatest wanderings
Didn't I tell you
I've found a light in the middle of woods
That guides me down from the mountain
Didn't I tell you
How it shone in my eyes
Blinding me to the world I once knew
Didn't I tell you
It's not as bad as you think
I've never seen a thing like this before
Didn't I tell you
I watched the animal pace in its cage
Dreaming of a dangerous freedom
Didn't I tell you
The animal killed itself last night
Against the hinge of the opened door
Didn't I tell you
I stood at the floodgates
Watching water pour into our lives
Didn't I tell you
The contamination spreads
Just as quickly as little lies

to Long-gone Childhood

Dear God,
I will miss this place.
A little piece of my heart
Left with those who taught me what to love.
But the question now is How.
