Projector

I see that you are
Disenchanted with your life
But I have seen
the moments
full of light,
Movie perfect
outlined just right.
Did you read the Script?
Pronounce the words
the way you do,
Syllables Stumbling
from practiced lips,
spitting rhymes like
cowboy whips.
You speak of beauty,
of intangible risks.
We walked the narrow path
below the spying sky,
waiting for invisible predators
to take us in the night.
I beg for the shadows
to be revealed,
and illuminate in
Spotlight.
You pulled back the Curtains
of time,
decimating piles of
'insignificant experiences'.
The gestures were yours alone.
The story was ours to own.
Did the world know
you were never pretending?

Subtly Striking. Benevolently Beautiful. Continuously Conditional.
Our lives are full of wonders. Words sent forth in hope of some kind of something. Some kind of nothing. Some kind of world. We make it what we wish, shape our own existence, and blame someone else when it fails (or not!). Remember your wings, we were all angels before we our days of birth. Naked, pure, delicate winged babies. Some day they will have their world. We will transcend, regress, and nullify our vows to mortal calamity. We are not chaos, this was all planned. Your God forgot to whisper secrets in your ears. HE also forgot to empower the weak, reveal himself in acts of justice, and translate himself into you. Domineering, Domesticating, Dedicating, Demeaning. Dropping down from skies of never, clouds of womanhood. Who is your mother.

Notice Her

If you did not
notice Her
It is because
she did not
want you
to

Who are you becoming?

The things we put on our bodies.

I want this on my body.

Cold stings the exposed face, bitterly stealing heat from skin. Flush, cheeks red from thievery. Zippers on jackets, fingers in gloves to hold the heat. (heat we cannot see)
This is the cold that I miss. This is the cold I feel. Ice cubes on bones, skeletal shake and shiver.

Midwest

Why we write

....... oh the reasons.
we write
to give life
meaning
to remember
to laugh
to recreate
to make it how we want it to be
it doesn't matter
who said it
or how
but it was said
or written
at one point
in time

I miss Midwestern sunsets. Glowing orb descends behind shops and homes, light carving shadows from trees onto pavement. Illuminating the beautiful parts of us. Quiet, serene, simple. I remember driving just to enjoy the fading light, feeling the cold of the coming night. settle in. The way I pushed my hair away, restlessly awaiting the rest of my life. Watching. Waiting. Folding the scene into creases in my mind.

Like crisp, fresh sheets.
we flutter in the wind

"Everyone Smiled"

Where is your Credibility. I steady my hands, clear my mind. I shake, body undulating in intense dissatisfaction. My eyes reveal it all, and you know the things they have said without sound. I gasp as the decorated voids walk past.

Giggles

Mr. Ice Cream man, why don't you have the flavor I so desperately desire? It's cold out and I walked today. I didn't come to see you, I'm sorry. I came to fill my mouth for a few moments with the sweetness of this creamy delicacy. I suppose I will settle to lick my lips to a different flavor today. Don't forget the fudge, the toppings, the whipped cream. Mr. Ice Cream man, where are you from? Is it cold there? Why are you here? I hope you are happy dipping the days away. I hope your feet don't hurt on the cement floors. I hope you are not alone at night, that you can cuddle up if you are ever cold. I hope you watch the sunrise every now and then. I hope you stay up until 4 am sometimes just to feel the silence before the birds. I don't even know you, Mr. Ice Cream man. But I love you anyway.

There's nothing like kissing with ice in the mouth. Why is that on my mind; it was so long ago.

I tiptoe and trip up the stairs
[So much for being graceful]
Hands and Knees
Slight Carpet Burn
My eyes gaze upward
And there you Await
Reach out a hand
And drag me up
the Last few Steps

The mountain Grows
I'm on top temporarily
The valley deepens
I throw rocks to the bottom
Just to hear the sound
The sight expands
I call out like a child
Just to hear the echo

Peace

Fantasy Lands (hands.)

We wave our hands like fluttery wings, recreate the dance we loved and knew. Stand tall, outstretch arms, intertwine and liquidate piles of tangled carpels. We scramble like children on the playground, touching the textures of life. Our hands detach and float up to the sky, joining the clouds in celebration. They speak the words we wished we could form on the tips of earth-bound tongues. Draping across the horizon, coloring the sunrise and sunset in crayon reds and blues.

Time. and Times.

Photos few and far between

We all wanted you to come home
We begged for your survival
stood witness to your soul

Warmer
Friendlier
More Inviting
In the back of my
damp
dark
Apartment
I have paced
sorted laboriously through
Piles of history
that don't belong
within these walls

The entirety of a year
fits perfectly on one small page

Ticktock ticks inside the stomach
